Nigerian Billionaire Tony Elumelu Receives Belgium’s Most Important National Honour

Nigerian billionaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu has been awarded with the oldest and most important National Honour in Belgium.

Tony Elumelu who is one of the richest men in Nigeria has many businesses. He is the chairman of Heirs Holdings, the United Bank for Africa, Transcorp and founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation. Elumelu holds the Nigerian national honours, the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2003. He received Nigeria’s National Productivity Order of Merit in 2019.

On November 16, 2020, the humanitarian took his official social media page to announce another exceptional Honour and it was such a great International recognition. Check out what Tony Elumelu posted below:

“Last night, the Kingdom of Belgium conferred on me with the honorary distinction of Officer in the Order of Leopold, the country’s oldest and most important National Honour.

I am humbled by this recognition of the work The Tony Elumelu Foundation in catalysing entrepreneurs across Africa and will continue to drive the economic empowerment of our brilliant young Africanentrepreneurs to propel development in Africa.
