Skill Acquisition is key to poverty eradication – Okowa

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has reiterated the role of skill acquisition in the eradication of poverty.

While receiving the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), led by Hajia Aisha Hafiz-Inuwa, the wife of the Delta State Police Commissioner, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa stated that skill acquisition is important in the fight against poverty.

Governor Okowa commended the members of the association for their contribution to the development of the society through their philanthropic gestures and disclosed that skill acquisition is the way out of the unemployment and acute poverty that is ravaging the country.

“We have continued to make skill acquisition a state policy. We have also revitalized technical education in the state to give our youth more veritable platforms to acquire skills because we realize that it is the only way to solve our unemployment problem,” Governor Okowa said.
